21-Day Devotional
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or IMAGINE, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout ALL GENERATIONS, forever and ever! Amen.”

How to Use This Devotional
As we move through these 21 days, each day includes:
Scripture to anchor us in God’s Word
A brief devotional thought for reflection
A prayer focus for individuals, families, and groups
You may read it alone, discuss it as a family, or use it as part of a small group. The goal is not perfection—but presence, as we seek God together and align our hearts to his.
WEEK 1: PRAY FIRST
(DAYS 1–7)
Aligning Our Hearts with God
Generosity begins with surrender, not dollars.
Day 1 — God Owns It All
📖 Psalm 24:1
“The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to him.”
Devotional Thought
Before generosity begins, we must remember: God owns it all. He created everything and calls us to steward what he has entrusted to us. Prayer reminds us to loosen our grip and trust his provision.
Prayer Focus
“God, help me see everything I have as yours and steward it with joy.”
Day 2 — Trust Before Provision
📖 Proverbs 3:5–6
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.”
Devotional Thought
Generosity grows out of trust — not of abundance or certainty. When we lean into God first, even before we see how things will work out, our hearts begin to reflect his.
Prayer Focus
Surrender control over your finances, plans, and what you cling to most.
Day 3 — Seeking God First
📖 Matthew 6:33
“Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.”
Devotional Thought
This promise isn’t a formula for prosperity — it’s an invitation to reorder our lives around God’s priorities. When Jesus is first, generosity follows naturally because our desires begin to match his.
Prayer Focus
Ask God to reorder your priorities around His Kingdom.
Day 4 — A Willing Heart
📖 Exodus 35:21a
“All whose hearts were stirred and whose spirits were moved came and brought their sacred offerings to the LORD…”
Devotional Thought
God is more interested in a willing heart than a perfect gift. He notices obedience before abundance. Prayer softens our hearts and makes us receptive to his leading.
Prayer Focus
Pray for openness, humility, and readiness to follow God’s leading.
Day 5 — Faith That Responds
📖 James 2:17
“So you see, faith by itself isn’t worth anything. Unless it produces good deeds, it is dead and useless.”
Devotional Thought
Faith moves from thought to action. Prayer fuels faith, and faith produces action — including generosity. When we pray, we prepare our hearts to respond courageously.
Prayer Focus
Ask God to reveal your next faithful step.
Day 6 — Freedom from Fear
📖 2 Timothy 1:7
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.”
Devotional Thought
Fear tells us to hold on tightly; God invites us to hold loosely. Generosity is not reckless — it’s rooted in freedom from fear because we trust God’s goodness and provision.
Prayer Focus
God help me to release fear around finances, future, and uncertainty.
Day 7 — Gratitude Changes Everything
📖 1 Thessalonians 5:18
“Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.”
Devotional Thought
Gratitude reshapes our perspective. A thankful heart isn’t dependent on circumstances — it’s anchored in God’s unchanging goodness. When we give thanks, generosity becomes natural, not forced.
Prayer Focus
Thank God for his faithfulness — past, present, and future.
Week 1 — Weekly Reflection Questions (optional)
Use these questions personally, as a family, or in a small group to reflect on what God has been teaching you this week.
What stood out to you this week about God’s ownership of your life and resources?
Where do you feel God asking you to trust him more deeply?
How did prayer shift your perspective on generosity this week?
WEEK 2: LIVING GENEROUSLY (DAYS 8–14)
Trusting God with What We Have
God doesn’t just bless us—he blesses others through us.
Day 8 — The Widow’s Trust
📖 Mark 12:41–44
“Jesus sat down near the collection box in the Temple and watched as the crowds dropped in their money. Many rich people put in large amounts. Then a poor widow came and dropped in two small coins. Jesus called his disciples to him and said, ‘I tell you the truth, this poor widow has given more than all the others who are making contributions. For they gave a tiny part of their surplus, but she, poor as she is, has given everything she had to live on.’”
Devotional Thought
Jesus isn’t impressed by the size of a gift—he’s moved by the depth of trust behind it. The widow’s generosity wasn’t measured in dollars but in dependence on God. Her story reminds us that true generosity flows from faith, not excess. God sees what we give when no one else is watching, and he honors obedience rooted in trust. As we apply this to the IMAGINE INITIATIVE, we need to remember that biblical generosity is “Not equal gifts, but equal sacrifice.”
Prayer Focus
“God, grow my trust in you. Help me respond in faith, not fear, and give with a willing heart.”
Day 9 — Open Hands
📖 Luke 6:38
"Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back."
Devotional Thought
Jesus’ words invite us to live with open hands and open hearts. This isn’t a promise of getting more, but a call to trust God’s generous nature and believe that he is faithful to provide as we give.
Prayer Focus
“God, help me live with open hands. Free me from fear, loosen my grip on what I hold tightly, and teach me to trust you as I live generously.”
Day 10 — God Supplies the Seed
📖 2 Corinthians 9:10
“For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you.”
Devotional Thought
God is the source of everything we have, and he supplies not only what we need, but what we need in order to bless others. Generosity grows when we trust that God is faithful to provide again and again.
Prayer Focus
“God, help me trust you as my provider. Show me how you want me to use what you’ve placed in my hands for your purposes.”
Day 11 — Trusting God’s Faithfulness
📖 Malachi 3:10
“Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, “I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test!”
Devotional Thought
God invites his people to trust him fully, even in generosity. This verse is not about earning God’s favor, but about learning to rely on his faithfulness as we walk in obedience to his Word.
Prayer Focus
“God, help me trust you more deeply. Strengthen my faith as I choose obedience, believing that you are faithful in all things.”
Day 12 — More Than Money
📖 Romans 12:1
“And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.”
Devotional Thought
Generosity is not limited to what we give financially; it includes how we offer our time, energy, attention, and lives to God. When we live surrendered lives, generosity becomes a way of worship.
Prayer Focus
“God, I offer my whole life to you. Show me how to honor you with my time, my gifts, and my resources as an act of worship.”
Day 13 — Joyful Giving
📖 2 Corinthians 9:7
“You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. ‘For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.’”
Devotional Thought
God is not interested in reluctant obedience but joyful participation. When generosity flows from gratitude rather than pressure, it reflects the heart of God and deepens our trust in him.
Prayer Focus
“God, shape my heart so that I give with joy and freedom. Help my generosity be a response to your grace, not an obligation.”
Day 14 — A Legacy That Lasts
📖 Psalm 112:5–6
“Good comes to those who lend money generously and conduct their business fairly. Such people will not be overcome by evil. Those who are righteous will be long remembered.”
Devotional Thought
Generosity leaves a mark that lasts beyond the moment. When we live with integrity and open hands, our faith shapes a legacy that points others toward God for generations to come.
Prayer Focus
“God, help me live in a way that honors you and blesses others. Shape my life so that my generosity leaves a lasting legacy of faith for the next generation.”
Week 2 — Weekly Reflection Questions (optional)
Use these questions personally, as a family, or in a small group to reflect on what God has been teaching you this week.
What has God revealed to you about generosity beyond money during this week?
Which day or Scripture challenged you the most, and why?
Where have you sensed God inviting you to trust him more deeply?
How has prayer shaped your perspective on generosity and obedience?
What is one practical step you feel led to take as a result of this week?
WEEK 3: IMAGINE WHAT GOD COULD DO (DAYS 15–21)
Stepping Forward Together
When God’s people move together, God moves powerfully.
Day 15 — United in Purpose
📖 Acts 2:44–47
“And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need. They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity—all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved.”
Devotional Thought
God works powerfully when his people move forward together with unity and generosity. When the church shares a common purpose, God uses that faithfulness to reach others and change lives.
Prayer Focus
“God, unite our hearts and our church around the mission of being people helping people find and follow Jesus. Help us move forward together in faith, generosity, and love during the IMAGINE INITIATIVE.”
Day 16 — God Does More Than We Imagine
📖 Ephesians 3:20–21
““Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or IMAGINE, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout ALL GENERATIONS, forever and ever! Amen.”
Devotional Thought
God’s power is not limited by our abilities or resources. When we trust him together, he works beyond what we could plan or IMAGINE, bringing glory to himself through his church.
Prayer Focus
“God, expand my faith and my imagination. Help me to trust that you are at work in ways far greater than I can see.”
Day 17 — Faith Over Comfort
📖 Hebrews 11:6
“And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.”
Devotional Thought
Faith often calls us beyond what feels safe or comfortable. When we choose trust over certainty, we honor God and position our lives to reflect his purposes and receive his blessings.
Prayer Focus
“God, help me choose faith over fear or comfort. Strengthen my trust in you as I follow where you lead.”
Day 18 — Making Room for Others
📖 Luke 14:23
“So his master said, ‘Go out into the country lanes and behind the hedges and urge anyone you find to come, so that the house will be full.’”
Devotional Thought
God’s heart has always been to make room for more people to experience his love and grace. Our generosity creates space—physically, emotionally, and spiritually—for others to encounter Jesus.
Prayer Focus
“God, help me make room for others. Open my eyes to the people you want to reach and use my life to reflect your love and grace.”
Day 19 — Obedience Unlocks Blessing
📖 Deuteronomy 28:2
“You will experience all these blessings if you obey the Lord your God.”
Devotional Thought
Obedience is not about convenience, it’s about trust. As we follow God faithfully, we position our lives to reflect his goodness and experience the joy and blessings that come from walking in his ways.
Prayer Focus
“God, give me a heart that is quick to obey you. Help me trust that your ways are good and obey no matter the inconvenience or cost.”
Day 20 — Our Yes Matters
📖 Isaiah 6:8
“Then I heard the Lord asking, ‘Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us?’ I said, ‘Here I am. Send me.’”
Devotional Thought
God often works through ordinary people who are willing to say yes. When we offer ourselves to him, our availability becomes a powerful means to accomplish his plans.
Prayer Focus
“God, here I am. Help me be willing and available to follow you wherever you lead.”
Day 21 — Commitment & Celebration
📖 Psalm 126:3
“Yes, the Lord has done amazing things for us! What joy!”
Devotional Thought
As we look back over these days of prayer and generosity, we celebrate God’s faithfulness and look ahead with trust. Our commitment is not the end of the journey, but a step forward into what God is doing and will do.
Prayer Focus
“God, thank you for your faithfulness. I commit my next step to you, trusting you with what comes next and rejoicing in all you have done.”
Week 3 — Weekly Reflection Questions (optional)
Use these questions personally, as a family, or in a small group as you reflect on what God has been stirring in your heart during this final week.
Where have you seen God stretch your faith or imagination during this week?
Which Scripture or devotional resonated with you most, and why?
How has generosity helped you see God’s mission more clearly?
In what ways do you sense God inviting you to step forward in obedience?
How can you continue living generously beyond these 21 days?
Closing Pastoral Note
As we come to the end of these 21 days, we pause to give thanks for what God has done over the past 20 years at Orchard and what God will do next. The IMAGINE INITIATIVE is not about a moment our church did a devotional or series—it’s about a movement to create space for community connection, expand our impact and reach, and empower the next generation as we take a bold new step of faith together.
We hope this 21-day journey has left you with a deeper dependence on God and a deeper sense of how every person, every family, and everyone is invited to be a part of this historic moment. In the days ahead, may we continue to IMAGINE what God can do—together!
Closing Prayer
“God, thank you for meeting us during these days of reflection and prayer. We thank you that over the past 20 years, you’ve used Orchard.Church to build your Kingdom both locally and globally. Help us to step out in faith, live with extravagant generosity, and build a movement of churches that will help more and more people find and follow Jesus. We commit our time, talents, and treasures to you, and humbly ask that you use us to change the world. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
