Connect with Each Other

Welcome to week 9 of small groups!  Take some time to catch up from last week. Be sure and introduce anyone new to the group.

  • Take some time to catch up with each other.

  • If you could give your younger self one piece of advice, what would it be?

Let’s Discuss the Message

DISCOVERING GOD’S WILL

This week Pastor Tyler began our new series, Just Tell Me, where we are learning how to know God’s will for our lives.

The key thought for this message was this:

KNOWING GOD’S WILL STARTS WITH KNOWING GOD’S HEART

  • GOD’S SOVEREIGN WILL: God’s unstoppable, unchangeable plan that directs all things toward his purpose.

PROVERBS 19:21 (NIV) - Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.

  • GOD’S MORAL WILL: Timeless truths revealed in His Word for how we live.

1 THESSALONIANS 4:3a - God’s will is for you to be holy

  • GOD’S PERSONAL WILL: God’s unique, specific plan for you.

EPHESIANS 2:10 (NIV) - For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Discuss the following:

  • Share with your group what stands out to you.

  • Do you have any questions lingering from this message?

Continue Sharing

  • When you hear “God’s will,” what’s the first thing that comes to mind—clarity, confusion, pressure, peace?

  • Why do you think we often focus more on discovering God’s plan rather than knowing His heart?

  • What’s one area of your life where you feel God inviting you to grow or align more with His ways?

Take Some Time to Pray Together

  • Pray for each other. Write down prayer requests so they can be shared with the group for the week.

  • Take a moment to quietly thank Jesus for meeting us exactly where we are.

One of our Values at Orchard is:

We always ask, “What does the Bible say?”

The only way to know God’s plan is to know His heart, and we get to know him by spending time reading the Bible and praying. Pray together that your group will spend time in the Bible this week and live out this Orchard Value with us!
